About the role
Role overview
Lead Product Designer – Pharmacy will shape the end-to-end pharmacy experience across Humana’s digital ecosystem. You will help members understand and manage medications, navigate pharmacy benefits, and make informed decisions—using design craft, strategic thinking, and cross-functional leadership to reduce complexity and improve medication engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Define and lead the end-to-end pharmacy design strategy with a human-centered approach aligned to business goals.
- Partner with product, engineering, marketing, and analytics teams to deliver solutions that simplify and improve critical pharmacy member “jobs to be done.”
- Lead user research and apply data-driven insights to guide design decisions and measure impact.
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusivity and ensure design best practices across pharmacy touchpoints.
- Ensure seamless, consistent experiences across the member journey by collaborating with other product/design teams.
- Present design concepts and strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders, clearly communicating rationale and value.
- Build a team culture of collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Human-Computer Interaction (or related field), or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated expertise designing pharmacy products/services, including medication management and Part D benefits.
- 7+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio showing impactful digital product outcomes.
- 3+ years experience coaching, mentoring, and developing designers.
- Experience designing complex, end-to-end user journeys, preferably in healthcare, insurance, or similarly complex industries.
- Deep expertise in user-centered design, interaction design, visual design, and service design.
- Proficiency with modern design/prototyping tools, including Figma.
- Strong ability to translate user research methods into effective design solutions.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on design and team leadership.
- Strong business acumen connecting design work to measurable outcomes (e.g., retention, satisfaction, operational cost reduction).
Preferred qualifications
- Accessibility and inclusive design expertise, particularly for Medicare/Medica (Medicare-focused experiences).
