Lead Product Designer

Role Overview

As a Lead Product Designer at Panorama Education, you’ll solve complex and ambiguous design challenges in K-12 education, turning complexity into scalable product experiences for educators and students. This is a high-autonomy role on a distributed, cross-functional team with close collaboration across Product and Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Shape and evolve core product experiences
  • Lead design across new and existing areas, connecting educators and students to Panorama’s data and insights with meaningful value.
• Design AI-powered and AI-assisted experiences
  • Define AI-native features and design systems for human-agent collaboration (interaction models, workflows, and UX).
• Contribute to and evolve the design system
  • Define components, design tokens, interaction patterns, and documentation.
  • Build production-ready accessible components with engineering.
  • Drive adoption of AI-native interaction patterns across products.
• Raise craft and mentor the team
  • Lead through visual/interaction design and prototyping.
  • Provide feedback, mentor designers, and help build a culture of high standards and continuous learning.
• Champion accessibility and inclusive design
  • Integrate WCAG 2.2 AA compliance into the design process.
• Lead discovery and research
  • Partner with Product on user interviews, usability tests, and synthesis.
• Communicate with clarity and conviction
  • Present design strategy and rationale to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership, including trade-offs and evidence.

Requirements

• 7+ years of product design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS.
• Strong portfolio showing design craft, end-to-end product thinking, and systems-level reasoning.
• Hands-on AI design experience shipping AI-powered or AI-assisted features.
• Data visualization expertise turning complex data into actionable insights.
• Accessibility expertise working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA.
• Strong mentorship/leadership mindset and experience raising team standards through feedback and experimentation.
• Alignment with a belief that design can advance equity and improve student outcomes.
