Lead Product Designer

Role Overview

Lead Product Designer on Circle’s Identity Team. This is a horizontal platform role focused on designing the “front door” systems that other teams rely on—turning complex logic into intuitive, high-craft experiences.

What You’ll Work On

• Transform Chaos into Order: Audit fragmented workflows and unify them into a cohesive platform experience.
• Unified Identity: Design user experiences for Roles, Permissions, and Team Management for both admins and end-users.
• Centralized Billing Infrastructure: Create scalable billing and subscription experiences that unify how customers pay across Circle’s ecosystem.
• Security meets UX: Design high-stakes flows including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), SSO setup, and account recovery—prioritizing usability alongside security.

What You’ll Bring

• Platform & systems experience: Proven background working on platform teams, internal tools, or design systems; understand the difference between feature design and framework design.
• Exceptional UI & visual design skills: Strong mastery of typography, color, layout, and hierarchy; focus on “fit and finish” and pixel-level polish.
• Complexity wrangling: Ability to turn messy requirements (e.g., permissions, enterprise billing) into clear, logical UI.
• Component-based thinking: Expert use of Figma to build scalable components using auto-layout, variables, and variants.
• Strategic communication: As a lead, clearly articulate design rationale, present to leadership, and partner with engineering to maintain design quality.
• Empathy for multiple audiences: Design for both external customers and internal teams building with your tools.
