Role Overview

Circle is seeking a Lead Product Designer to join the Identity Team. This is a horizontal, platform-focused role where you will architect the “front door” systems that other product teams build upon—turning complex identity and billing logic into polished, usable experiences.

What You’ll Work On

• Transform chaos into order: Audit fragmented workflows and unify them into a cohesive platform experience.
• Unified identity: Design user experiences for Roles, Permissions, and Team Management for both admins and end-users.
• Centralized billing infrastructure: Create a scalable billing/subscription experience that unifies how customers pay across Circle’s ecosystem.
• Security meets UX: Own high-stakes flows including MFA, SSO setup, and account recovery, ensuring usability isn’t sacrificed.

What You’ll Bring

• Platform & systems experience: Proven work on platform teams, internal tools, or design systems; understand designing a framework, not just features.
• Exceptional UI & visual design: Strong craft in typography, color, layout, and hierarchy; obsessive about “fit and finish” and pixel-level polish.
• Complexity wrangling: Ability to translate messy requirements (e.g., permissions, enterprise billing) into clear, logical UI.
• Component-based thinking: Expert in Figma, building scalable components using auto-layout, variables, and variants.
• Strategic communication (Lead): Articulate the “why” behind design decisions; comfortable presenting to leadership and collaborating/negotiating with engineering.
• User empathy: Design for both external customers and internal builders (developers/designers) who use your tools.
