Lead Product Designer

Role Overview

Circle is hiring a Lead Product Designer for its Identity Team. This is a horizontal platform role—designing the systems that become the “front door” for Circle across products and user types, with an emphasis on both logic/system consistency and visual craft.

Responsibilities

• Transform chaos into order by auditing fragmented workflows and unifying them into a cohesive platform experience.
• Design Unified Identity experiences, including Roles, Permissions, and Team Management, making complex admin/business logic intuitive.
• Build Centralized Billing Infrastructure UI for a scalable billing/subscription experience across the Circle ecosystem.
• Create secure yet usable UX for high-stakes flows such as:
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • SSO setup
  • Account recovery
• Lead platform-level design thinking by designing frameworks/systems (not just individual features).
• Communicate design rationale, present to leadership, and negotiate with engineering partners to maintain design quality.

Requirements

• Strong platform/system design experience (platform teams, internal tools, or design systems).
• Exceptional Visual/UI design skills with deep mastery of typography, color, layout, and hierarchy, with a focus on “fit and finish.”
• Ability to wrangle complexity (e.g., messy permissions/enterprise billing requirements) into clean, logical interfaces.
• Component-based thinking with expert Figma usage (auto-layout, variables, variants).

• Experience presenting design decisions to leadership and working closely with engineering to sustain quality.
• Empathy for both external customers and internal users (developers/designers consuming the system).
