About the role

Role Overview

Wellthy is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Engineer to design, develop, and enhance software applications. You will lead the creation of impactful solutions, report to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve both user experience and system performance.

Key Missions

Lead design and development of complex software systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements and architectural standards
Deliver end-to-end features across both frontend and backend, balancing technical debt vs. short-term value
Optimize existing systems and improve maintainability and performance
Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing technical expertise and fostering growth

Responsibilities

Lead complex projects spanning backend and frontend development
Troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical challenges
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
Apply security principles and best practices in implementations

Requirements

7+ years of professional software development experience
Strong backend proficiency (e.g., Python) and frontend proficiency (e.g., React)
Familiarity with relevant frameworks/libraries
Strong understanding of backend + frontend architecture and development methodologies
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Exposure to cloud platforms, cloud-native development, and deployment practices
Experience with containerization
Familiarity with agile methodologies
Comfortable learning and experimenting with emerging technologies (including potential responsible use of AI)
Testing experience with testing frameworks and practices

Nice-to-Haves

Interest/experience with emerging AI technologies and applying them responsibly
Frontend design principles and UX considerations
Experience managing other engineers
Exposure to security best practices and knowledge of security principles

Remote Work Requirements

Must work from a private, dedicated, distraction-free space
Secure (not public) internet and phone access
Ability to safely and securely handle sensitive information
