About the role
Role Overview
Lead Frontend Software Engineer for a greenfield, dealer-facing product within an AI-first engineering org. You’ll architect and build a high-performance, authenticated web experience that helps dealers drive sales through insights, self-service onboarding, product configuration, and permissions (RBAC).
Responsibilities
- Lead greenfield architecture & development for the newly launched Hub website.
- Architect authenticated frontend experiences including:
- actionable data insights
- automated onboarding
- product configuration
- user management with RBAC
- Build high-performance interfaces in Next.js/React with a platform mindset.
- Drive engineering practices for reliable delivery, including:
- testing
- observability
- CI/CD build pipelines
- Focus on system resilience and scalability (not just feature implementation).
Requirements
- Experience thriving in early product stages (“v1 to v10”).
- AI-native engineering mindset; strong use of Claude Code to automate routine work and accelerate delivery.
- Strong performance and frontend fundamentals:
- Core Web Vitals
- caching
- async assets
- Commitment to usability and accessibility.
- Understanding of building fast, reliable UIs even in gated/authenticated applications.
- Testing and observability knowledge; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience architecting permissioned experiences (e.g., RBAC) and complex user management flows.
Location / Work Model
- 100% remote in the Chicago area.
- Onsite interviews may be required.
