Role Overview

Lead Frontend Engineer (Remote in the US)

You will own the technical direction for Storm2’s user-facing surfaces and lead a frontend team of 5 engineers. The scope spans a web app, browser and productivity integrations, email-related surfaces, and a new native mobile app.

What You’ll Do

• Set frontend technical direction: define architectural standards, patterns, and the frontend code review bar across desktop, browser extension, productivity suite integration, and mobile.
• Own frontend engineering health: be directly responsible for the codebase quality.
• Manage the team: run 1:1s, set goals, provide feedback, hire, and mentor; own team performance and growth.
• Own the release process across multiple platforms and differing cadences (including off-cycle deployments and app store review submissions).
• Ship the hardest features end-to-end: stay hands-on and lead complex cross-cutting work with product and design.
• Improve polish, interaction, and performance for detail-oriented professional users.
• Partner across the stack: coordinate with backend, infrastructure, QA, and AI; read API contracts fluently and debug end-to-end (without writing backend code).

Requirements

• Senior frontend engineer with 7+ years building production web applications.
• Multi-surface experience across at least two platforms (web, browser extensions, productivity integrations, or mobile; React Native preferred).
• People management experience: 1:1s, performance reviews, hiring, and growth.
• Strong design partnership skills (implement designs well and contribute thoughtful feedback).
• Comfortable working across the stack: can read API contracts and debug end-to-end independently.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience building or scaling React Native apps from early stages.
• Background in financial software / investment technology / fintech.
• Proven improvements to frontend performance, build times, and/or developer experience.
