Lead DevOps Engineer - AWS

Role Overview

Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS) for a software company supporting its R&D department and the deployment/maintenance of a SaaS product. This is a remote-first role where you’ll own DevOps within development teams, improve developer experience, and drive automation and delivery efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team and own DevOps practices across development teams.
• Design, build, and maintain Developer Experience systems.
• Enhance collaboration, automate workflows, and accelerate delivery cycles.
• Review and improve the current build environment and build systems for automated building/publishing.
• Implement and improve a strong CI/CD process for fully automated releases.
• Champion DevOps best practices and foster a culture of cloud excellence.
• Mentor and coach team members (career development) and manage direct reports.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in a similar lead DevOps role.
• AWS certification in one or more relevant disciplines (DevOps/Cloud architecture).
• Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as CircleCI, Jenkins, Travis CI, GitHub Actions, or similar.
• Degree in software engineering or a related discipline.

Nice to Have

• Additional cloud architecture experience beyond CI/CD (implied by the focus on solution design and environment improvement).
