Lead DevOps Engineer (100% Remote)

Role Overview

Tether is hiring a Lead DevOps Engineer (100% Remote) to lead DevOps specialists and help scale reliable, secure infrastructure and delivery pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of DevOps specialists; promote best practices, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Dev, QA, and management to improve deployment quality, observability, and stability.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to proactively detect issues and maintain system health.
• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for rapid and reliable delivery.
• Enforce test-driven deployment by integrating automated testing across the pipeline to improve code quality and feedback loops.
• Oversee Linux server administration: configuration, monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Stay current with DevOps industry trends and evaluate/integrate new tools and processes.

Requirements

• 7+ years in DevOps/Infrastructure roles, including 2–3+ years in a leadership/technical lead capacity.
• Strong expertise in Linux system administration and networking.
• Deep experience with containerization, including Docker (image creation, registry management, and basic orchestration patterns).
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript package management/publishing to NPM, including semantic versioning.

Nice-to-haves (implied)

• Experience automating mobile app build processes (mentioned as part of the broader DevOps scope).
