About the role
Role Overview
As Lead Data Analyst, you will own the analytics layer of the Data Platform, ensuring insights are accurate, consistent, and actionable across the organization. You will serve as the senior analytics authority—setting analytical standards, governing semantic model architecture, and leading a team while staying hands-on as the most senior contributor.
Key Responsibilities
Analytics Leadership and Standards
- Define and enforce analytical standards across reporting, dashboards, and data models
- Establish best practices for metric definitions, calculation logic, and data usage
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across all analytics outputs
- Govern interpretation and presentation of data across the organization
Semantic Model and Data Modeling Ownership
- Design and maintain enterprise semantic models used across Power BI
- Ensure models are scalable, reusable, and aligned with business definitions
- Standardize key metrics and dimensions across reporting domains
- Partner with Data Engineering to align data structures with analytical needs
Power BI Environment Governance
- Own the Power BI environment, including dataset architecture, report quality, and access control
- Establish standards for report design, usability, and performance
- Manage deployment, versioning, and lifecycle of reports and datasets
- Ensure data security and access governance
Team Leadership and Development (Player-Coach)
- Lead and mentor a team of Data Analysts
- Provide guidance on analysis, modeling, and reporting best practices
- Review work to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment to standards
- Support team growth in technical and analytical capabilities
Business Partnership and Insight Delivery
- Act as the primary analytics partner to business and program stakeholders
- Translate business questions into analytical frameworks and outputs
- Deliver clear, actionable insights for decision-making
- Communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
Program and Performance Analytics
- Build reporting for the AI and Digital program, tracking adoption, ROI, and overall impact
- Provide leadership visibility into program effectiveness and outcomes
- Support executive and board-level reporting
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the VP of Data and Analytics to define the analytics roadmap
- Work with the Lead Data Engineer and data platform teams to ensure analytical needs are supported by data pipelines and new data sources
Requirements
- Deep technical expertise in Power BI
- Strong analytical judgment and the ability to translate complex data into clear insights
- Rigorous approach to data accuracy and clear communication
- Ability to build scalable analytics capabilities across a distributed organization
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience governing semantic model architecture and standardizing metrics across business domains
- Prior team leadership experience (player-coach) in analytics or BI
- Experience supporting executive/board reporting and program performance analytics
