About the role
Role Overview
Lead Cloud Architect for GDIT’s cloud infrastructure team. You will partner with a federal client to modernize and expand cloud capabilities, shaping scalable multi-cloud architectures and driving successful implementation.
Responsibilities
- Architectural leadership: Lead design of scalable cloud infrastructure, including AWS landing zone architecture across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Build systems to scale multi-cloud operations, including cross-account applications, SASE, and automation.
- Solution development: Define technical requirements with client stakeholders; design and implement solutions using the AWS Well-Architected Framework and hybrid cloud strategies.
- Team enablement & mentorship: Guide DevOps and SecOps engineers; promote CI/CD and automation for provisioning cloud services.
- Stakeholder engagement: Work with senior leadership and enterprise architecture teams to build cloud adoption strategies; clearly communicate architecture to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of IT/digital transformation experience.
- 5+ years hands-on cloud architecture/implementation in AWS (preferred) and/or Azure/GCP.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience leading multi-tenant cloud systems (e.g., landing zones, multi-account systems).
- Experience developing and managing high-availability, secure, automated solutions aligned with best practices.
- U.S. Citizen/Green Card holder eligible for Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies and tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab.
- Professional cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Experience bridging on-premise systems with cloud environments.

Compensation
- Likely salary range: $195,500 - $264,500 (final offer depends on experience, geography, and other factors).
