About the role
Role: Lead Analytics Engineer (Remote)
You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in analytics engineering, business intelligence (BI), and the data domain to support enterprise business needs.
Responsibilities
- Analytics Engineering SME: Drive functional and technical requirements for analytics engineering as part of an Agile team with Product Managers, Analysts, Analytics Engineers, and Data Engineers.
- Data modeling & BI visualization: Design complex data models and BI applications to enable easy consumption and analysis.
- Standards & adoption: Lead design and development standards and practices for:
- data modeling
- BI dashboards and data visualizations
- analytics applications Ensure the team adopts repeatable, maintainable processes.
- Portfolio/program support: Contribute to the management of a portfolio of programs with senior teammates; support production processes and advise on troubleshooting/resolutions to reduce incidents.
- Mentorship & reviews: Train teammates in coding, data modeling, and BI development best practices; conduct code reviews.
- Technical direction: Recommend advanced/innovative data and BI solutions; identify process improvement opportunities.
- Continuous learning: Evaluate emerging tools and external developments; identify gaps and recommend new technologies; perform cost/benefit analysis for new tools/platforms.
Requirements
- Expert-level experience in BI tools (examples provided): Microsoft Power BI, Qlik Sense, Looker, Tableau.
- Expert-level experience with cloud platforms (examples provided): Microsoft Azure and/or GCP.
- Expert-level experience with cloud data warehouses (examples provided): Snowflake and/or Google BigQuery.
- Database experience (example provided): Oracle.
- Version control & CI/CD (examples provided): GitHub and GitHub Actions.
- Advanced/Expert SQL development (required).
- Python development (fully competent) and data architecture experience (preferred).
- 6–10 years of relevant experience (as stated).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
Nice-to-haves / Preferred
- Fully competent-level Python development.
- Data architecture experience.
