Lawson/RPG Developer | Remote

Role overview

Contract Lawson/RPG Developer (remote) for a 6-month engagement with potential extension. The role is focused on building, modifying, and troubleshooting Infor Lawson applications and related workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Lawson applications, reports, and workflows using:
  • RPG, COBOL, SQL, AS/400 Control Language (CL), and Lawson Interface Desktop (LID)
• Troubleshoot and debug technical issues within Lawson applications and integrations
• Create/maintain interfaces between Lawson modules and external systems/vendors
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract data and deliver reports/dashboards/automated notifications
• Automate business tasks using Lawson Process Flows (and related programming solutions)
• Translate user needs and business requirements into formal specs and program designs
• Perform unit, integration, and system testing for new and modified programs
• Document designs, testing, and revisions throughout the SDLC
• Enhance the system’s web user interface to improve usability

Required skills

• Strong expertise in Infor Lawson (LID), RPG, COBOL, and IBM i / AS-400 (must have all of these)
• Experience with Infor Lawson tools such as LID, Process Flow/IPA, and Lawson Portal
• Familiarity with Lawson database structures and product-line tables
• Ability to debug Lawson applications and integrations
• Strong SQL skills for extraction, reporting, and query optimization
• Ability to analyze requirements and write technical specifications
• Experience with unit/integration/system testing and strong documentation
• Solid understanding of SDLC, version control, and change management
• Manufacturing industry experience
• Previous lead experience
