Kubernetes Platform Engineer (Remote) - 26573

Role Overview

Enlighten is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer with strong cloud fundamentals (notably AWS), hands-on Kubernetes experience, and Go proficiency. You’ll help advance platform technology, collaborate across teams, and independently resolve critical issues in alignment with broader strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Own and advance platform services in Kubernetes (Control Plane platform that other teams deploy to)
• Collaborate with engineers from other teams to build new features and capabilities
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve critical technical issues
• Mentor new team members (junior and senior)
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
• Work with a distributed team of engineers
• Coordinate with engineering, QA, and documentation teams to deliver product outcomes

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Secret clearance (highly desired); company will process for Secret if needed
• Experience:
  • 9+ years with a Bachelor’s, or 7+ years with a Master’s, or 4+ years with a PhD/JD, or 13+ years with a high school diploma/equivalent
• Strong, in-depth experience with Go (analysis, debugging, troubleshooting)
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes and its ecosystem (e.g., service meshes, scalability, volume management)
• Experience working in Kubernetes-based environments
• Experience developing and maintaining APIs
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and modern cloud tooling
• Solid understanding of Linux, hosts, networks, security, and applications; scripting proficiency
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
