About the role
Role Overview
Bright Vision Technologies is hiring a Kubernetes & OpenShift Engineer to design, deploy, and operate enterprise-grade Red Hat OpenShift container platforms for mission-critical workloads across on-premises and cloud environments. This is a 100% remote (U.S.), full-time position where you own the platform lifecycle end-to-end.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end platform lifecycle: cluster provisioning, hardening, workload onboarding, developer enablement, ongoing operations, and continuous improvement
- Partner with application teams, security engineers, and infrastructure stakeholders to deliver a stable, secure, developer-friendly container platform
- Implement and operate Kubernetes/OpenShift capabilities such as operators, CRDs, RBAC, and networking
- Support monitoring, logging, and tracing for the platform
- Contribute to continuous delivery improvements and platform security via container image security and supply-chain hardening
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years operating container platforms in production, including 3+ years on Red Hat OpenShift
- Deep hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and OpenShift internals (operators, CRDs, RBAC, networking)
- Strong Linux administration skills (networking, performance tuning, troubleshooting)
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Helm)
- Solid experience implementing CI/CD pipelines on OpenShift or Kubernetes using Tekton, Jenkins, or Argo CD
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go
- Working knowledge of cluster monitoring, logging, and tracing
- Familiarity with container image security and supply chain hardening
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or Architect-level Red Hat certification
- Experience operating OpenShift on one or more major public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with service mesh (OpenShift Service Mesh, Istio, Linkerd)
- Familiarity with regulated environments (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2)
- GitOps experience using Argo CD or Flux
