Junior UX Designer [209589]

Role overview

Aquent is seeking a Junior UX Designer to support its digital product team in delivering intuitive, user-centered mobile app experiences. This early-career role is fully remote (working CST hours, 40 hours/week) on a 6-month contract with possible extension.

Responsibilities

• Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes in Figma for ongoing product initiatives
• Maintain and evolve the UX component library / design system for consistency and scalability
• Translate requirements from product, UX leads, and stakeholders into clear, usable designs
• Support rapid prototyping for concept validation and stakeholder reviews
• Collaborate with developers to ensure design accuracy during implementation
• Document designs and prepare Jira tickets (including annotations and acceptance criteria)
• Participate in design critiques, team reviews, and feedback sessions
• Incorporate feedback into design iterations to support UX research efforts
• Provide light visual/design support for in-app or marketing-related assets when needed

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in UX/UI design (or a strong portfolio demonstrating equivalent skills)
• Proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, variables, and prototyping
• Basic understanding of design systems, accessibility, and responsive design
• Familiarity with UX fundamentals: user flows, wireframing, information architecture
• Experience with Agile environments (e.g., Jira or similar tools)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established design standards
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn

Nice to have

• Mobile app design experience (iOS/Android)
• Exposure to usability testing or user research
• Basic visual/marketing design experience
• Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards
