Junior UI/UX & Visual Designer

Role Overview

Inadev is seeking a Junior UI/UX & Visual Designer to lead visual identity direction and support UI/UX strategy across federal and commercial accounts. You’ll work on design projects involving emerging technologies such as identity intelligence, immersive tech, AI/ML, virtualization, augmented reality, and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Own visual design and contribute to UI/UX strategy based on user/stakeholder needs
• Ideate and design iteratively, incorporating project goals and research feedback
• Create detailed wireframes and clickable prototypes
• Produce responsive designs for multiple platforms and screen sizes
• Develop personas, journey maps, and user content flows
• Maintain versioning and documentation (design guides, libraries, etc.)
• Present design concepts and recommendations to team members, clients, and stakeholders
• Deliver clean design artifacts in formats useful for development and project execution
• Stay current on UX/design trends and emerging best practices
• Work with cross-functional teams (UX team, developers, stakeholders) using Human Centered Design (HCD)
• Participate in an Agile delivery process:
  • Plan work, communicate progress, and attend agile ceremonies
  • Develop user personas and stories
  • Ensure user stories and acceptance criteria are accurately captured
• Translate between non-technical client stakeholders and technical teams through clear communication

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance
• Must currently reside in the Continental United States

Location / Work Policy

• Reston, VA: local candidates must be open to hybrid work
• Outside the DC/MD/VA metro area: may work fully remote

Nice to Have

• Experience working within Agile frameworks (explicitly referenced)
• Strong ability to create time estimates and work independently (self-managing)
