Junior UI/UX Designer

Role Overview

Join STERRY as a Junior UI/UX Designer in a remote, full-time role. You’ll support the end-to-end design process—from user research and ideation to high-fidelity prototyping and developer handoff—while partnering closely with product leads and developers.

Key Responsibilities

Design Support

• Create wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes for product features and improvements
• Design UI components while maintaining consistency across the product and the design system
• Use modern design tools, including AI-assisted design platforms, to speed up ideation and output
• Prepare and organize design assets for development teams with accurate documentation

Research and User Testing

• Support user research (e.g., surveys, interviews, usability testing)
• Create personas, journey maps, and information architecture
• Analyze user feedback and propose design improvements based on insights
• Conduct competitor analysis and track design trends

Collaboration and Communication

• Collaborate with developers to ensure designs are feasible and align with technical specifications
• Participate in sprint sessions and brainstorming; contribute creative ideas
• Present design concepts to team and stakeholders; incorporate feedback
• Clearly communicate design rationale to cross-functional partners

Documentation and Design Handoff

• Produce design specifications and maintain organized documentation for developers
• Ensure smooth handoff of design files for accurate implementation
• Keep documentation up to date as development changes occur

Continuous Learning

• Stay current on UI/UX trends, tools, and best practices
• Explore AI-driven design tools/workflows to improve efficiency and creativity
• Grow through feedback, mentorship, and training

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in UI/UX design (internships and academic projects count)
• Strong user-centered design fundamentals and best practices
• Ability to create wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs
• Knowledge of user research methods and usability testing
• Ability to translate user needs into intuitive, engaging experiences
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus, but a strong portfolio is valued most

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with AI-assisted design tools/workflows (or strong interest in adopting them)
• Exposure to information architecture, journey mapping, and competitor analysis
