About the role

Role Overview

As a Junior Site Reliability Engineer within Coalfire’s Managed Services (CMS) team, you’ll support cloud reliability for SaaS clients. This role is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys cloud operations, automation, and solving production issues, working across major public clouds.

Remote is possible only if you are located in the United States.

What You’ll Do

Coordinate with client product teams, engineering teams, and stakeholders to monitor and maintain secure, resilient cloud infrastructure to SLAs (production and non-production)
Use automated orchestration and configuration management to improve operations
Work with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to design, deploy, and manage secure/compliant server, network, boundary protection, and cloud architectures
Create, maintain, and peer review automation orchestration/configuration codebases and IaC codebases
Maintain IaC tooling and versioning in client environments
Implement and upgrade client environments with CI/CD infrastructure code; feed back environment requirements to development teams
Work across AWS, Azure, and GCP, leveraging native services for client environments
Configure, tune, troubleshoot cloud-based tools; manage cost, security, and compliance
Monitor and resolve stability/performance issues impacting functionality and availability
Provide 24x7x365 support via client ticketing systems; participate in on-call rotations
Support incident response and disaster recovery documentation testing and validation
Perform testing/data reviews to evaluate effectiveness of security and operational measures and remediate deviations
Maintain detailed diagrams of client cloud architecture
Maintain and improve standard operating procedures, operational runbooks, technical docs, and troubleshooting guidelines

Requirements

BS+ in a related IT field (or equivalent education/experience)
2+ years experience in 24x7x365 production operations
Fundamental understanding of networking and troubleshooting
2+ years installing, managing, and troubleshooting Linux

Nice to Have

Experience operating across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP and using their native services
Hands-on IaC and CI/CD practices for production environments
Experience with incident response / disaster recovery exercises and documentation
