JUNIOR QA ENGINEER

Role overview

Junior QA Engineer at CelticQA Solutions (Reports to Lead or Sr. QA Analyst). The role is part of a remote QA team and focuses on manual testing, test planning, defect reporting, and collaborating with development/automation resources.

Responsibilities

• Review business requirements and technical specifications to identify test cases
• Create and maintain detailed manual test scripts and test steps
• Execute test cases manually, analyze results, and produce test reports
• Develop test plans and related manual test cases
• Report defects and partner with the development team to resolve issues quickly
• Apply appropriate testing methodologies to client situations
• Assess application readiness and identify performance deviations against requirements
• Work with automation consultants to support the QA test automation process

Requirements / Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in software testing and QA methodologies (preferred)
• Strong experience preparing test plans, test cases, and defect reports
• Bachelor’s degree minimum (preferably Computer Science or Engineering)
• Prior exposure to test management, test automation, and database tools (desired)
• Effective project management to communicate progress and complete tasks on time and budget
• ISTQB qualification (or equivalent) desirable
• Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment
• Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable with a strong disposition to deliver
• Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented
• Ability to work across diverse cross-functional teams
• English fluency
• Valid work permit / US citizenship

Nice-to-haves

• Prior knowledge of test management and automation tools
• ISTQB (or equivalent)

Location / time zone

• Atlanta, GA (US) and Dundalk, Ireland listed; company operates a remote model
• Preference for US candidates to be in Eastern Time (ET/EST)
