Junior Python Developer

Role Overview

Junior Python Developer (Remote) Support Santander’s Application Development POD by building scalable Python applications, automation solutions, and integrations with enterprise-grade systems in a cloud and DevOps ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python-based applications and backend services
• Build automation workflows and scripts for business processes and data operations
• Integrate with enterprise systems, databases, and external APIs
• Work within a modern DevOps workflow (version control, CI/CD, testing, and code quality)
• Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure application reliability

Required Skills

• Hands-on modern Python development experience (3+ years)
• Exposure to recent Python versions (3.12+ / 3.13 preferred)
• Proficiency with GitHub-based development workflows
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with Python tooling:
  • uv (dependency management)
  • mypy (type checking)
  • Pydantic (data validation & modeling)
• Strong SQL Server and SQL-based data processing
• Experience with API development and microservices architecture

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• HashiCorp Vault for secrets management
• Exposure to Apigee (API management / gateways)
• Automation frameworks, batch processing, or workflow orchestration
• Cloud familiarity (AWS preferred)
• Experience in financial services / regulated environments
