About the role
Role Overview
The Junior Project Designer supports the design and development of architectural projects from early concepts through construction documentation. You’ll collaborate with team members, consultants, and Project Managers to produce buildable, high-quality design solutions aligned with client goals and firm standards.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to architectural design across all project phases
- Create design drawings, 3D models, renderings, and visual presentations for reviews and client meetings
- Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure work meets scope, budget, schedule, and client expectations
- Assist with consultant coordination (e.g., structural, MEP, civil, landscape) as needed
- Prepare and refine architectural drawings and details according to firm standards and zoning/building codes
- Support code research, zoning analysis, and site studies
- Revise drawings based on client feedback, consultant input, and review comments
- Participate in design charrettes, team meetings, and internal critiques
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (or related field)
- 3–5 years of experience in an architectural firm
- Proficiency with design/documentation tools such as:
- Revit and AutoCAD
- SketchUp, Rhino, or similar
- Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Strong understanding of architectural graphic standards and design principles
- Working knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and detailing
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment
Core Competencies / Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with BIM workflows and coordination
- Familiarity with rendering software (e.g., Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion, V-Ray)
- Progress toward architectural licensure (preferred, not required)
- Creativity, problem-solving, attention to detail, organization, and openness to feedback
- Time management, adaptability, and a team-oriented proactive mindset
