About the role

Role Overview

VetsEZ is hiring an Entry-Level (Junior) Java Developer for a 100% remote position on a large federal government project. This is a great opportunity for early-career developers to build full-stack applications alongside experienced engineers, architects, and Agile teams.

Responsibilities

Support the design, development, and implementation of full-stack applications under senior guidance
Build high-quality software with a focus on value, usability, and reliability
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and Agile coaches on modernization and transformation initiatives
Participate in the full SDLC: design, coding, testing, and deployment
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues
Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives)
Work on client-facing projects involving IT modernization, cloud adoption, and digital transformation

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
Strong understanding of fundamental computer science concepts
Experience with at least one programming language such as Java, C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript, or PHP
Basic knowledge of full-stack development and modern web technologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment

Nice to Have / Additional Qualifications

Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
Experience with Node.js or JavaScript MVC frameworks (e.g., AngularJS, Backbone)
Exposure to Agile development methodologies
Interest in cloud technologies and modern software development practices
