Role Overview
Junior Game Developer focused on building and improving simple 2D game features using Java and libGDX. You will collaborate with AI specialists to design engaging game interactions and support the creation of high-quality training data.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize 2D game features using Java and libGDX
- Collaborate with AI specialists on game interactions and training data collection
- Implement core mechanics: sprite management, game loops, and input handling
- Troubleshoot and debug code to ensure performance and reliability of game modules
- Participate in code reviews and help improve internal coding standards
- Document technical processes and game development workflows for cross-functional teams
- Communicate regularly with the team (status updates, feedback gathering)
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Java and object-oriented principles
- Hands-on experience with libGDX (coursework, personal projects, or prototypes)
- Understanding of game development basics: game loops, sprites, input management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; clear technical documentation
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote team
- Demonstrated interest/initiative building games or interactive applications
- Willingness to complete an AI interview as part of selection
Nice to Have
- Portfolio of small games/demos (GitHub links or playable demos encouraged)
- Familiarity with vectors, collision detection, or basic 2D physics
- Experience using Git for version control and collaboration
