About the role
Role Overview
InStride Health is hiring a Junior Fullstack Engineer to design and develop software systems that support adolescent patients, their families, and clinical staff. You’ll build maintainable, scalable systems with solid testing, documentation, and monitoring, working closely with internal product and design teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop fullstack software systems
- Build systems that are maintainable and scalable, with thorough testing and documentation
- Include proper metrics and monitoring
- Collaborate with product and design to clarify stories and translate business needs into technical solutions
- Research and leverage commercial products, libraries, and tools to meet requirements
- Provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement
- Work with the support team to diagnose and fix production issues
- Contribute as an active, agile team member, shipping new features every iteration
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience building and maintaining production-ready fullstack applications
- Frontend frameworks: React, Angular, Svelte, or Vue
- Backend/language experience: Go, C#, Java, TypeScript, etc.
- Strong debugging skills for production issues
- Solid understanding of APIs and state management
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Collaboration via structured Pull Requests
- Startup mindset: comfortable with fast pace, tight deadlines, and making tradeoffs
- Comfortable learning new tools and working with unfamiliar systems
Nice to Haves
- AWS experience
- Experience with AI development tools and knowing when/how to use them
- Experience with Healthcare Technologies
