About the role
Role Overview
Junior DevOps Engineer at eSimplicity supporting federal agency teams with CI/CD, DevSecOps automation, release management, monitoring/observability, and zero-trust security practices.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software delivery.
- Manage multiple environments (development, testing, UAT, staging, production) and ensure metadata deployments are synchronized and consistent.
- Configure quality gates in CI/CD, including:
- code reviews
- test execution
- code quality checks
- code security scans
- Apply an automation-first approach using custom scripts and robotic process automation (RPA) to reduce manual configuration.
- Coordinate releases with development, QA, and business teams.
- Implement strategies for quick data/metadata restoration after deployment failures; lead backup and restore activities and maintain restoration runbooks.
- Drive continuous improvements to the CI/CD pipeline and team development workflows.
- Set up monitoring and alerting for deployments; troubleshoot issues.
- Document DevOps promotion/back-promotion practices and environment details.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training to development teams on CI/CD best practices.
- Implement observability to improve insight into performance, reliability, and utilization.
- Configure alerts for system issues and collaborate on incident response.
- Configure security tools and permission sets to enforce zero-trust and least-privilege access controls.
Requirements
- Public Trust clearance through the U.S. Federal Government (U.S. citizenship or ability to pass clearance via the Foreign National Government System, including residency and passport/VISA documentation requirements).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience (4 years general IT + at least 2 years specialized experience).
- 2+ years DevSecOps experience including:
- cloud architecture
- CI/CD pipelines
- release management
- security tools
- managing multiple applications/environments (dev/test/UAT/staging/production)
- monitoring/observability, log aggregation, and security tools
- Experience with Data Deploy / Data Loader and platform capabilities (governor limits).
- Familiarity with Salesforce technologies: Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), APIs, and declarative development tools.
- Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and best practices.
- Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools including Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, plus configuration management tools like Ansible.
- AWS Cloud experience is a plus.
