Junior Data Engineer

Role Overview

Join Chainlink Labs as a Junior Data Engineer in a highly technical role at the intersection of blockchain, economic systems, and data pipelines. You’ll help design, analyze, and operationalize economic models while collaborating across teams to deliver innovative solutions into production.

Key Missions

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and supporting infrastructure to enable data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to bring solutions from concept to production, ensuring both technical and economic soundness.
• Work on blockchain economics projects, including analyses, systems, and designing mechanisms/incentive schemes.

Requirements

• Production-grade software engineering fundamentals such as Git, testing, containerization, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience designing and implementing data infrastructure in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Strong data analysis and/or data science experience.
• Deep understanding of financial and crypto markets and incentives.
• Solid Computer Science foundation (data structures, algorithms, complexity).
• Strong academic or professional background (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Economics/Finance through Masters-level academics and/or multiple years of industry experience).
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational/coordination skills.
• Curious, collaborative self-starter; growth-oriented and self-aware.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with LLM-based development tools, on-chain data, and orchestration tools such as Airflow and dbt.
• Data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
• Published research with an economics/crypto focus (e.g., MEV/PBS, staking/slashing dynamics, tokenomics).
• Strong interest in DeFi and staying current on new products and trends.
