About the role

Role Overview

Junior Cloud Engineer (Remote, full-time) at ArcheSys Inc. You will help design, build, and maintain secure and efficient cloud infrastructure for public sector customers, acting as a consultant, developer, and problem solver.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure Development & Maintenance
- Assist with cloud infrastructure setup and maintenance using AWS
- Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
Automation & Optimization
- Contribute to deployment automation to reduce manual effort
- Support optimization of cost, system performance, and resource utilization
- Build automation scripts/tools to streamline installation, configuration, and maintenance
CI/CD
- Assist in maintaining/enhancing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
- Help integrate solutions into automated pipelines
Collaboration & Support
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate applications and services
- Provide technical support and help troubleshoot production issues
Monitoring & Incident Response
- Implement monitoring for proactive issue detection
- Participate in incident response to restore services and support recovery
- Help set up monitoring with New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk
- Assist in developing alerting mechanisms
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Document procedures/configurations/specifications and maintain a knowledge base
- Create/maintain technical documentation (system designs, configurations, procedures)
Compliance & Professional Development
- Follow established IT policies and guidelines to support compliance
- Continuously learn emerging cloud/DevOps best practices through training

Requirements (from posting)

U.S. authorization required (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD) and no sponsorship available
Residence requirement: must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years
Clearance: Public Trust clearance (or ability to obtain)
