Role Overview

Junior Cloud Engineer (Platform/Cloud) at ArcheSys Inc

Fully remote, full-time cloud support and infrastructure engineering for public sector/government customers.
Work as a consultant + developer + problem solver, collaborating directly with customers to design and implement secure cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure development & maintenance
- Assist with setup/maintenance of cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Help develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
Automation & optimization
- Contribute to automation of deployments to reduce manual effort.
- Improve cost, system performance, and resource utilization.
- Build automation scripts/tools to streamline installation, configuration, and maintenance.
CI/CD support
- Maintain/enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Support integration of development solutions into automated pipelines.
Collaboration & technical support
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for application/service integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues alongside development teams.
Monitoring & incident response
- Assist with monitoring for proactive issue detection.
- Participate in incident response and service recovery.
- Help configure monitoring/alerting using New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.
Documentation & knowledge sharing
- Document configurations, procedures, and specifications.
- Maintain a knowledge base and contribute to technical documentation.
Compliance support
- Follow established IT policies and guidelines.

Requirements

U.S. residency/authorization: must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years and be authorized to work in the U.S. (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD).
Public Trust Clearance: able to obtain (or currently hold) Public Trust clearance.

Nice to Have

Experience with cloud/DevOps best practices and continuous learning in emerging technologies (role emphasizes training and development).
