About the role

Jr. Software Engineer (Java / Python)

Type: W2 Location: Remote (must be near one of: Scottsdale, AZ; Colorado Springs, CO; Northern Virginia; Bay Area, CA; Taunton, MA; Pittsburgh, PA)

Role Overview

Join a dynamic team to develop and improve software applications and tools using Java and Python, with an emphasis on cloud and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and enhance software applications and tools
Support infrastructure and system-level requirements
Design, build, and test APIs
Collaborate across development, operations, and security teams
Contribute to system improvements and new product development

Required Skills

Proficiency in Java and Python
Strong understanding of API development and Agile methodologies
Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and automation
Experience with AWS services (e.g., EKS, EC2, Lambda, S3, IAM)
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
Understanding of infrastructure as code
Knowledge of security best practices and monitoring

Nice-to-Haves / Bonus

Exposure to AI tools and prompt engineering
Strong analytical skills, documentation, and collaboration

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s in Software Engineering/STEM + 2 years experience, or
