About the role
Role Overview
Join CSI Companies as a Jr. Full Stack Engineer (Software Engineer I) in a large regulated enterprise platform. This is an early-career role focused on hands-on development, learning mentorship, and contributing to both backend services and foundational frontend/UI components.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and/or Python using established design patterns
- Implement and enhance REST APIs from technical specifications
- Contribute to frontend features and UI updates using existing frameworks/patterns
- Work with shared frontend components and follow established design patterns
- Write clean, testable, maintainable code per team standards
- Consume internal/external APIs and event streams
- Debug issues, perform bug fixes, and support performance improvements
- Participate in code reviews and apply feedback from senior engineers
- Support deployments via existing CI/CD pipelines
- Follow documented security compliance and operational procedures
Requirements
- 1–2 years of professional software engineering experience (internships count)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Working knowledge of backend development with Node.js or Python
- Basic frontend experience: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and/or a modern framework
- Understanding of HTTP and REST APIs and core software engineering concepts
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Strong motivation to learn, accept feedback, and grow in a team environment
Nice to Have
- Exposure to cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React
- Basic understanding of event-based systems/message queues
- Experience in regulated/enterprise environments
- Familiarity with automated testing and debugging tools
Logistics / Compensation
- Remote, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday during standard business hours
- Pay: $30–32/hr based on experience/education/credentials
