Jr. Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

Join CSI Companies as a Jr. Full Stack Engineer (Software Engineer I) in a large regulated enterprise platform. This is an early-career role focused on hands-on development, learning mentorship, and contributing to both backend services and foundational frontend/UI components.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and/or Python using established design patterns
• Implement and enhance REST APIs from technical specifications
• Contribute to frontend features and UI updates using existing frameworks/patterns
• Work with shared frontend components and follow established design patterns
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code per team standards
• Consume internal/external APIs and event streams
• Debug issues, perform bug fixes, and support performance improvements
• Participate in code reviews and apply feedback from senior engineers
• Support deployments via existing CI/CD pipelines
• Follow documented security compliance and operational procedures

Requirements

• 1–2 years of professional software engineering experience (internships count)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Working knowledge of backend development with Node.js or Python
• Basic frontend experience: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and/or a modern framework
• Understanding of HTTP and REST APIs and core software engineering concepts
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Strong motivation to learn, accept feedback, and grow in a team environment

Nice to Have

• Exposure to cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React
• Basic understanding of event-based systems/message queues
• Experience in regulated/enterprise environments
• Familiarity with automated testing and debugging tools

Logistics / Compensation

• Remote, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday during standard business hours
• Pay: $30–32/hr based on experience/education/credentials
