Jr. Data Scientist

Jr. Data Scientist at Why Hiring. You’ll work with analysts, engineers, and cross-functional partners to analyze large datasets and contribute to predictive and AI/ML-driven solutions that support intelligence insights and operational advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform statistical analysis and data exploration to extract insights from complex datasets
• Support the development and validation of predictive models to identify trends and patterns
• Contribute to AI/ML models and data-driven solutions
• Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to support decision-making and operational planning
• Build and maintain data pipelines for collection, processing, and integration
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and teams to improve data workflows
• Develop scripts/tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency
• Support initiatives to improve data quality, structure, and accessibility
• Use basic experimental/analytical approaches to test ideas and evaluate outcomes
• Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for optimization

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL (or similar)
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Strong understanding of statistical techniques and modeling approaches
• Foundational knowledge of AI/ML concepts and applications
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud-based big data technologies
• Ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences
• Understanding of intelligence analysis processes and mission requirements
• Experience with both structured and unstructured datasets
