About the role
Jr. Data Engineer (Remote)
Join Cutsforth to help design and maintain scalable data pipelines and deploy AI/ML models that drive real operational outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ML workflows for operational and analytical needs
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented Python code for data processing, model development, and automation
- Analyze complex datasets, especially time-series and machine health data, to support decision-making
- Build, validate, and monitor AI/ML models in production; proactively identify and resolve performance issues
- Communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Participate in cross-functional planning to align data engineering efforts with business goals
- Stay current with AI/ML techniques and tools, especially for power/oil-and-gas environments
- Document processes, models, and systems to support knowledge sharing
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in data engineering, data science, or a related technical role
- 2+ years hands-on AI/ML modeling experience, including building and deploying models in production
- Strong Python proficiency for data engineering and machine learning workflows
- Experience designing and managing end-to-end ML pipelines (data ingestion → feature engineering → model training → deployment)
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, Data Science, Engineering, Math, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline
- Experience with machine health/condition monitoring datasets
- Power, oil, or gas industry experience (operational data, equipment telemetry, industrial IoT)
- Familiarity with time-series modeling, forecasting, and anomaly detection
- Experience with cloud ML platforms (e.g., Azure) and orchestration tools
Additional Notes
- Remote role with required 1-week training at the Washington office
- Must reside in the United States; no visa sponsorship
- Not accepting remote applicants from California, Illinois, and New York at this time
