Job Opening: WordPress Web Developer

Role Overview

Phidev is seeking a WordPress Web Developer for a remote work-from-home position. You’ll join an experienced, collaborative team to build and improve websites and digital solutions—ranging from simple sites to e-commerce implementations—using WordPress.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain websites using WordPress, working with the design team to ensure strong functionality and user experience.
• Collaborate across teams with designers, project managers, developers, and other stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly.
• Implement design changes by translating mockups and customizing WordPress themes into fully functional sites.
• Optimize performance for fast load times, responsive behavior, and SEO friendliness.
• Run regular SEO audits and implement strategies to improve search rankings.
• Stay current with industry trends and recommend/implement best practices.

Requirements

• Advanced (mostly written) English.
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript proficiency.
• WordPress development experience.
• Basic PHP and MySQL knowledge.
• Responsive design familiarity.
• Strong problem-solving and team collaboration skills.
• Clear communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-Haves

• Spanish (a big plus).
• A strong eye for design and drive to create lasting user/brand experiences.
