JD Edwards Developer / Remote / W2 ONLY

Role Overview

The client is seeking a Sr. JD Edwards (JDE) Developer to design, develop, implement, and support custom solutions in the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne environment. This is a remote contract opportunity with a focus on application development, integrations, support, documentation, and reliability.

Responsibilities

Design & Development

• Develop, enhance, and maintain custom applications, modules, and interfaces in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
• Create and improve core JDE components such as Business Functions, NER (Named Event Rules), BSFN, and UBE (Universal Batch Engines).
• Implement code changes following coding standards and best practices, including participating in code reviews.
• Establish guidelines for consistent, efficient, scalable development across projects.

Support & Maintenance

• Provide ongoing system and user support for JDE EnterpriseOne.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize business disruption.
• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive reliability improvements.
• Perform root-cause analyses for application errors and deliver reliable fixes/enhancements.
• Partner with internal IT teams and end users for technical support, training, and guidance.
• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices are followed.

Integrations

• Design and maintain integrations between JDE and other enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, EDI, data analytics tools).
• Ensure data integrity through effective database design and SQL query creation/optimization.

Documentation

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and specifications.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne development.
• Expert proficiency with the JD Edwards toolset (e.g., OMW, FDA, RDA).
• Hands-on development in C, C++, Java, or RPG (based on JDE version/custom program needs).
• Strong knowledge of JDE modules, especially Finance, Distribution, and Manufacturing.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with database technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server.
• Integration experience with EDI, XML, REST, SOAP.
• Experience with JDE Orchestrator or CafeOne (highly preferred).
• Experience supporting/troubleshooting JDE EnterpriseOne and performing performance monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.x.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum/SAFe.
• Experience with cloud-based ERP implementations or migrations.
• Relevant JD Edwards certifications.
• Experience with BI Publisher or other reporting tools.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
