About the role
Role Overview
The JD Edwards / Application Business Analyst will act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT for a JD Edwards ERP environment. You will analyze business processes, configure JDE solutions, maintain reporting and integrations, and ensure data and system integrity across finance-related modules.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements; translate them into JD Edwards functional specifications.
- Design, configure, and optimize JD Edwards modules including:
- Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Payroll
- General Ledger and related accounting areas
- Develop and maintain reports using ReportsNow and native JD Edwards reporting tools; write SQL for accurate data retrieval.
- Design and maintain integrations between JD Edwards and internal/external systems to ensure data integrity.
- Lead and support testing across unit, integration, system, and UAT for features, patches, and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot production issues with root-cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
- Provide end-user support: create guides, training sessions for business users and support teams.
- Maintain documentation: technical/process documentation, change logs, configuration records.
- Coordinate with IT/vendors on upgrades, patches, and performance tuning; document impacts and rollback plans.
- Support security, audit, and control compliance for financial systems and data.
- Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of hands-on JD Edwards (JDE) functional experience, preferably across AP, AR, Payroll, and General Ledger.
- Strong experience with ReportsNow (Orchestra/Certinia) and SQL.
- Experience designing and supporting ERP-to-third-party integrations with strong data integrity/reconciliation understanding.
- Solid understanding of accounting and payroll processes and how they map to JD Edwards.
- Experience with implementation lifecycle: requirements, configuration, testing, deployment, post-go-live support.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders; training/support capability.
- Familiarity with change control, security, audit, and compliance practices in ERP environments.
Nice to Have
- JD Edwards certification.
- Experience with automation tools or middleware.
