About the role

JavaScript Engineer (AI Training)

Alignerr is seeking experienced JavaScript Engineers to evaluate and improve AI-generated code so it’s correct, efficient, and aligned with modern engineering standards.

Responsibilities

Review and evaluate AI-generated JavaScript for correctness, efficiency, and ES6+ compliance
Write high-quality JavaScript solutions across varying complexity (utility functions to complex async logic)
Identify bugs, edge cases, and failure modes in AI-generated web and backend code
Create clear, human-readable explanations of code and reasoning
Provide structured, detailed feedback to help AI models generate better, more reliable code
Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Requirements

Deep familiarity with core JavaScript concepts (e.g., async/await, closures, prototypal inheritance, DOM manipulation)
3+ years hands-on JavaScript experience
Experience with modern frameworks/tools such as React, Node.js, or Vue
Strong instincts for clean, readable, maintainable code
Detail-oriented and methodical approach to evaluating code quality
Ability to articulate technical reasoning clearly in writing
CS degree preferred (demonstrated experience most important)

Nice to Have

Experience with data labeling, RLHF, or other AI training workflows
Familiarity with TypeScript and modern JS toolchains (e.g., Webpack, Vite, ESLint)
Background in code review, technical writing, or software QA
Experience across both frontend and backend JavaScript environments

Contract & Schedule

Type: Hourly contract
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Location: Fully remote
Ongoing work/extension possible as new projects launch
