JavaScript Developer (Remote)

Role Overview

JavaScript Developer (Remote) supporting development and enhancement of Department of Veterans Affairs solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable JavaScript applications.
• Develop and support applications using React 18 and TypeScript.
• Deploy and manage applications with Docker containers and Kubernetes.
• Build, test, and promote container images (including image promotion pipelines).
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services.
• Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing.
• Perform code reviews and resolve defects.
• Monitor and evaluate system metrics using Prometheus and Grafana dashboards.
• Maintain clear and concise documentation.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and other software team members.

Requirements

• 5+ years of JavaScript development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Strong JavaScript proficiency.
• Above-average TypeScript proficiency.
• Above-average React 18 proficiency.
• Above-average GitHub proficiency for source control.
• Monitoring/logging experience with Prometheus.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline configurations and tools such as Jenkins, Harness, Nexus, SonarQube, and HashiCorp Vault.
• Ability to monitor dashboards such as Grafana.
• Experience with container images and image promotion pipelines.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Experience supporting a federal agency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and client collaboration skills.
• Security/Eligibility: Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust and U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident (lived in the U.S. at least 3 years).
