About the role
Role Overview
Remote Java/Spring Boot Software Developer (United States). You will design, develop, and enhance modern software applications, contributing to full-stack solutions including backend services, REST APIs, frontend integration, testing, and continuous delivery.
Responsibilities
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and deployment
- Develop and maintain object-oriented applications in Java
- Build backend services and REST APIs using Java + Spring Boot
- Develop frontend applications using React and component-based design approaches
- Perform software requirements analysis, system integration, research, and technical design
- Apply engineering principles/standards to solve complex technical challenges
- Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) with unit and integration tests
- Support CI/CD using tools such as Jenkins, Harness, or GitHub Actions
- Design and integrate REST APIs (endpoint architecture, versioning, and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation)
- Work with data streaming concepts using Kafka (producers, consumers, topics, partitions)
- Collaborate with engineers and technical stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business goals
- Provide technical expertise as needed
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Proven experience building enterprise object-oriented applications with Java
- Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience building frontend applications with React (ReactJS)
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and best practices
- Practical experience with TDD, unit testing, and integration testing
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery workflows
- Knowledge of REST API design, integration patterns, and API documentation
- Exposure to Kafka (or similar data streaming platforms)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration in a remote environment
- U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger for API documentation
- Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Harness, or GitHub Actions
