Java Software Engineer

Role Overview

Java Software Engineer (Full Stack) responsible for designing, coding, testing, and implementing software solutions on time and within budget. The role supports WSFS, Special Orders, and Plex systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, technical analysts, and IT teams to deliver solutions aligned to business requirements.
• Discuss and document technical considerations.
• Translate solution designs into working code.
• Perform unit and integration testing.
• Analyze complex program interdependencies to prevent unintended effects.
• Create and maintain test cases, test data requirements, and expected results.
• Migrate solutions into production.
• Enhance existing applications as needed.
• Maintain and update documentation for code and technical processes.
• Document issues, resolutions, and incident closures; track changes to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct demos, technical walkthroughs, and code reviews.
• Assist with training and end-user support.
• Build and maintain relationships with peers, IT teams, business partners, and vendors.

Requirements

• 7+ years of IT experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; certifications are a plus.
• Strong proficiency in Java (J2EE/Java EE and Java SE) using Spring and JPA/Hibernate.
• Experience building SOAP and REST APIs.
• Front-end experience with Angular and React, plus JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, and HTML5.
• Database expertise with Oracle PL/SQL.
• Experience with Linux/HP-UX and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with Java EE application servers such as JBoss and WebSphere.
• Cloud experience with AWS.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; customer-focused mindset.
