Java Software Engineer | $90/hr Remote

Role overview

Contract Java Software Engineer working remote (10–40 hrs/week). You’ll design and build scalable backend systems, including microservices, while collaborating with a customer team to deliver secure, high-quality code.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot
• Architect microservices solutions for complex application requirements
• Collaborate with the customer team to review technical specifications and ship high-quality code
• Provide insights to improve performance, reliability, and security
• Participate in code reviews and give constructive peer feedback
• Document technical processes and solutions clearly
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend systems as needed

Requirements

• Expert proficiency in Java
• Hands-on Spring Boot experience
• Strong microservices architecture/design knowledge
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, efficient code
• Exceptional written and verbal communication with attention to detail
• Experience working with remote teams in a fast-paced environment
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, data structures, and backend best practices
