About the role
Role Overview
Java Engineer (Remote) at Temu. You will design and build core functionality for the order system, working on large-scale distributed systems to ensure high availability, performance, and production stability.
Responsibilities
- Lead system function design, architecture design, and core coding for the order system
- Address technical challenges and bottlenecks related to:
- High concurrency and high stability
- Massive data processing (e.g., sharding/archiving)
- Complex distributed transaction scenarios
- Own system maintenance and production stability, including:
- Monitoring and troubleshooting
- Responding to and supporting online incident emergencies
- Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or equivalent)
- 3+ years of software development and architecture experience
- Strong Java proficiency and solid CS fundamentals
- System design expertise
- Experience with distributed system technologies, including MySQL, Redis, MQ, RPC (and related)
- Proven experience with large-scale distributed system architecture
- Familiarity with distributed service frameworks; hands-on experience designing high-concurrency and high-availability systems
- Strong production-quality mindset (zero tolerance for production issues)
- Experience with online debugging and performance tuning (plus)
- Excellent communication, learning, teamwork, and problem-solving; strong ownership
Compensation & Benefits
- Total annual salary range: $100,000–$300,000 (based on factors like skills, experience, qualifications, competencies, and location)
