About the role
Role Overview
Workidentity is seeking an experienced Java DevOps Developer (gn) for a role focused on the full lifecycle of Java-based applications in production. The position emphasizes CI/CD automation, containerization/orchestration, cloud/on-prem deployments, and monitoring/observability.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of Java applications: development, deployment, and production maintenance
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and release processes
- Containerize and orchestrate Java applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Ensure scalable deployments to cloud and on-prem infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Implement and monitor monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
- Perform Java backend performance tuning to optimize resource usage and latency
- Collaborate with development teams to improve and accelerate the path to production-ready environments
- Maintain deployment stability and security via automated tests, security checks, and rollback mechanisms
Requirements
- Multi-year experience as a Java Developer, including microservices and distributed systems
- Solid DevOps practices and experience automating infrastructure and application deployments
- Proficiency with build tools such as Maven or Gradle
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Travis CI
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or Ansible)
- Strong focus on security and performance optimization
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills across development, QA, and operations
