Java Developer

Role Overview

Remote (United States) Principal Java Developer to architect, design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications and distributed systems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and continuously improve scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring independent deployability and alignment with enterprise standards
• Develop secure, well-tested, production-quality code following internal security best practices
• Build responsive, component-based front-end applications using React (or equivalent), with focus on UX, accessibility, and performance
• Create RESTful APIs and implement event-driven integrations with clear contracts and API versioning strategies
• Participate in architecture/design discussions (scalability, resiliency, maintainability, cost-efficiency)
• Optimize performance via profiling, database query tuning, JVM tuning, and API throughput improvements
• Implement robust state management patterns for complex front-end applications
• Write comprehensive automated test suites for reliability and quality
• Support CI/CD pipeline automation (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
• Troubleshoot bottlenecks, technical debt, and architectural weaknesses

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development (enterprise application development preferred)
• Strong data structures, algorithms, and system design fundamentals
• Proficiency in Java 11 and 17 and Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture (service decomposition, observability)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
• CI/CD experience and Git-based version control
• Deployment experience on major cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

Nice-to-Haves

• Front-end experience with Angular or Vue (in addition to React)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related technical field
