About the role
Role Overview
Senior Java Developer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining back-end services powering the Medicare Provider Portal and Apache Camel-based integration applications. You’ll deliver secure, high-performance code aligned with healthcare compliance standards, and translate business requirements into test-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain back-end services for the Medicare Provider Portal and related integration applications
- Implement secure, high-performance code compliant with healthcare requirements
- Collaborate with product owners, QA, operations, and business analysts to turn requirements into technical solutions
- Support and enhance Apache Camel integration apps (route configuration, error handling, and connectivity to legacy systems/message brokers)
- Participate across the software development lifecycle (planning, development, testing, deployment)
- Diagnose and resolve production incidents and performance issues
- Mentor junior developers and share best practices
- Follow architectural guidelines, coding standards, and CI/CD processes
- Assist with technical documentation and specifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education/work combination
- 5+ years building enterprise-grade Java SE/EE applications with production readiness and strong testing practices
- Proven experience with Apache Camel integration solutions, including:
- RESTful services
- Route configuration and error handling
- Connectivity to legacy systems and message brokers
- Experience working in Scrum teams (planning, grooming, standups, retros)
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
