About the role

Role Overview

Senior Java Developer (Remote) focused on designing, developing, and maintaining applications using modern Java and cloud-native technologies.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable Java code using Spring Boot
Develop and maintain microservices-based applications with high performance and responsiveness
Build and integrate RESTful APIs (including third-party integrations)
Deploy and operate applications using Docker and Kubernetes
Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing (e.g., Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube)
Lead code reviews and apply best coding practices
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and technical issues
Maintain documentation for modules and applications
Provide estimates for assigned tasks/projects and track defects/issues
Work closely with frontend developers and QA engineers

Requirements

8+ years of Java development experience
Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Solid understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns
Knowledge of RESTful API design and consumption
Above-average experience with CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube)
Above-average experience with AWS
Proficiency with Git
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Experience supporting federal agency development
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust (including U.S. citizenship or permanent resident conditions)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting development in a healthcare environment
