Java Developer - Remote

Role Overview

You will work as a Java Developer (Contract, Remote) to help build backend systems that support the development and training of next-generation AI models. No prior AI experience is required—domain knowledge and strong engineering fundamentals are key.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot
• Architect microservices to support complex application requirements
• Collaborate with the client team to review technical specifications and deliver high-quality code
• Improve performance, reliability, and security through engineering best practices
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend services
• Document technical processes and solutions clearly

Requirements

• Expert proficiency in Java
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and design principles
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, efficient code
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail
• Experience collaborating with remote teams in a fast-paced environment
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, data structures, and backend best practices

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Prior work on AI-driven or data-intensive projects
• Background in high-availability or distributed systems
