Role Overview

As a Java Developer (Contract, Remote), you’ll design and build backend capabilities that help next-generation AI systems learn and perform using high-quality real-world input. No prior AI experience is required—your domain and backend engineering expertise are what matter.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot
Architect microservices solutions for complex application requirements
Collaborate with customer teams to review technical specifications and deliver high-quality code
Improve performance, reliability, and security through engineering insights
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
Document technical processes and solutions clearly
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend systems as needed

Requirements

Expert proficiency in Java
Hands-on backend experience with Spring Boot
Strong understanding of microservices architecture and design principles
Ability to write clean, maintainable, efficient code
Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail
Experience working with remote teams in a fast-paced environment
Solid knowledge of REST APIs and backend best practices

Nice-to-Haves

Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience on AI-driven or data-intensive projects
Background in high-availability or distributed systems
