About the role

Role Overview

Java Developer (Remote) to design, develop, and maintain Java applications, with a focus on Spring Boot microservices and cloud-native deployment.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain efficient, reliable Java code using Spring Boot
Develop and maintain microservices-based applications (high performance and responsiveness)
Deploy and manage applications using Docker and Kubernetes
Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services
Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing
Perform code reviews and ensure best coding practices
Work with frontend developers and QA engineers as part of a software team
Identify and fix performance bottlenecks, bugs, and technical issues
Maintain clear, concise documentation

Requirements

5+ years of Java development experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
Strong proficiency in Java
Strong proficiency in Spring Boot
Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Strong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
Solid understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube)
Experience with AWS
Proficiency with Git
Experience in an Agile development environment
Ability to support a federal agency
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (with U.S. residency of at least 3 years) and ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice-to-haves

Experience supporting a healthcare environment
